Trying to find a reception or banquet hall for a wedding can be a difficult task. There are many things that need to be taken into consideration such as the size, schedule, style, and how helpful the staff is. When trying to plan a wedding, you will want to make sure that all of your questions are answered. Just because the banquet hall is large and beautiful does not mean it is right for your wedding. Below are a few of the more important questions that you should ask the banquet or reception hall before booking it for the event.

1. Is there enough parking? Even though the banquet hall may be large enough to accommodate all of your guests, is there enough parking for them? If there is not parking, does the banquet hall provide a shuttle or other service that can get the guests to and from the banquet hall? It could be considered rude if guests have to pay for parking in a different lot. Do not overlook the importance of parking as it can make a potentially enjoyable night into a nightmare for guests who cannot find a spot.

2. What is the facility like? You will want to get as many details about the banquet hall as you can. Does it have air conditioning or heating for very hot or cold days? You do not want the guests to be miserable if there is no air conditioning or heating. Are there enough bathrooms to accommodate the amount of guests? If you have several hundred guests and there is only one small bathroom, this might not be an ideal location for the reception. Is there a room for the bride to get ready before the reception starts? The bride or other guests may need a changing room. These are important details that are often overlooked but that should be taken note of.

3. What is the food, bar, and décor situation? Many banquet halls have staff that can cater, setup a bar, and decorate the whole reception hall. Other times, you may want to bring in your own caterers or decorators. You will need to work out with the banquet hall what they will and will not allow. They may insist that you use their caterers or decorations.

By being thorough in your questions to a banquet or reception hall, you can ensure that you get the best place available that meets all of your needs. Just because the hall is large and beautiful does not mean it is the right place. You will want to take into consideration all of the factors.
